Apple's Private Cloud Compute Processes 2 Billion AI Requests Daily — Privacy-First AI at Scale

By Apple DeskApril 12, 2026 · 4 min read

Apple has disclosed that its Private Cloud Compute infrastructure — the cloud AI system designed to process Siri and Apple Intelligence requests without accessing user data — now handles over 2 billion requests daily.

The system, which uses custom Apple Silicon chips in cloud data centres, processes AI tasks in isolated environments that are cryptographically sealed. Even Apple engineers cannot access user data during processing.

This privacy-first approach has become Apple's key differentiator in the AI race. While competitors like Google and Microsoft process AI requests on shared infrastructure, Apple's approach ensures that user data never leaves a secure enclave.

The scale is impressive. 2 billion daily requests makes Apple's AI cloud one of the largest in the world, despite the company's relatively late entry into the generative AI market.
