DJI Pocket 4 Official — Confirmed for April 16 Launch as Competition With Insta360 Intensifies

By Gadgets DeskApril 14, 2026 · 4 min read

DJI has officially confirmed the launch of its Pocket 4 camera on April 16, 2026. TechRadar reports that Insta360 may be preparing a competitive response in the same week.

The Pocket series remains one of the most popular consumer content creation tools globally, and both companies are positioning aggressively for the summer 2026 creator economy spending season.

Leaked specifications suggest the Pocket 4 will feature a 1-inch sensor (up from 1/1.3-inch), 8K video at 30fps, improved image stabilisation, and a larger touchscreen with AI-powered editing features.

The creator economy continues to grow rapidly. An estimated 50 million people globally now earn income from content creation, with pocket-sized cameras like the DJI Pocket series enabling production-quality video from anyone.

DJI's competitive advantage lies in its gimbal stabilisation technology. However, Insta360's Flow stabiliser and its software ecosystem — particularly its AI-powered editing tools — have been closing the gap.
